On the left are two new houses reflecting the Colonial Revival style; one has a gambrel roof, and the other is a modem Cape Cod cottage. Beyond and above them, at 17 Penacook street, is another Walker House. While this dwelling has the form of a double-chimney house of the 1700's or early 1800's its exterior detailing is Greek Revival in style and was probably the result of a remodeling in the mid-1800's. Notice the wide corner boards and the front doorway, both of which echo similar details on the Pierce Manse.
